Happy Beauty Weekend! So, this weekend post we are going to be talking about Makeup Brushes and the importance of having clean brushes. I try my hardest to clean my makeup brushes once a week. I do this because I use my brushes everyday and they also set out in my room were dust can just fall on them. You don’t need a lot to clean your makeup brushes, you will only need your dirty brushes, baby shampoo, and a clean face towel. Lets Begin!
1. Put some baby shampoo in the palm of your hand. (a little goes along ways)
2. Get your makeup brush wet under some water. The hand that is holding the baby shampoo, make sure it is flat. With the other hand go back and forth with the brush in the baby shampoo. (if you took an art or painting class you lean how to do this, its the same thing 🙂
3. When your done doing step 2. you will see this ( or something like it) don’t get scared, this is a good thing. All of this is dirt, dust, pigments, oils, and germs. (imagine: if you haven’t cleaned your brushes in a while or at all, you are putting all that (in the picture) back on to your face)
TIP: When you are trying out a new product make sure the brush you use is clean. This way if you get a brake out, you will know it was really the product. (some people get face brake outs and clam the makeup product did it and it was really there dirty brush/ hands)
4. Run your hand and the brush under some warm water now. This will make sure all of the dirt comes out.
5. You might have to repeat step 2. if there is still pigment coming out of the brush. ( i usually repeat to make sure my brushes are really clean) If you need to repeat and your brushes are clean and no pigment is coming out when you squeeze it, then your finish.
6. Lay all of your brushes down on a towel so they can dry off. You don’t want to put them face up in a cup while they are wet because the metal part that hold the hairs together will get wet and that will loosen the glue (in a shorter meaning: you will mess up your brush)
I hope this helped you out. This is the way I do it and i know other people clean there brushes a different way. In the comments below, tell me how you clean your makeup brushes.
