Hello, fellow shy children! This is the first day of Halloween Takeover. A little mini series I’m starting this year that will feature Halloween makeup tutorials, would you try this look, Pinterest inspiration and more. So check back everyday tell October 31, for the spooky and mysterious post I’m about to share with you.
Hello little girl setting against the wall… This is my Voodoo Doll look i decided to create for you all. I wanted to start Halloween Takeover with this look because you don’t need to have any makeup experience to recreate this look. Even though it can look a bit complex. I am going to walk you though the steps right now and if you are allergic to face paint don’t worry, none was used in the creation of this look.
1. Start of with a nice clean and moisturized face. I used Adovia moisturizing day cream and i highly recommend it because it can also work as your face primer. I also took e.l.f. Lip Exfoliator and exfoliated my lips, than applied eos lip balm in Mint.
2. Apply a foundation in a shade lighter than your skin tone. For me that’s Maybelline FITme in 350 and use e.l.f. Powder brush to apply it. (If you like you can skip this step all in one)
3. Now add light under your eyes by applying a lighter concealer. I decided to go with Sheer Cover Duo concealer in Light/Medium and use e.l.f. Small Stipple Brush to apply it. Now make sure everything is set with a light powder like Revlon’s Nearly Naked in 040 Medium/Deep.
4. Take NYX Eyeshadow Base in Skin Tone and apply it all over your eye lids and even under your eyes.
5. Using Loreal Paris Project Runway Limited Edition Quad in 416 The Queen’s Gaze and Crown brush C476 Crease/Shadow brush, apply the gun medal color all over the eyelids/crease and under your bottom lid.
6. Using the same Quad and brush pick up the dark smoked purple color and so the exact same thing.
7. Now take e.l.f. single eyeshadow in Charcoal and with the same shadow brush apple the charcoal color the same way. We are done with shadows now!
8. but we still have to finish the eyes so Loreal Paris carbon black telescopic liquid eyeliner is for your top last line and NYX jumbo eye pencil in Milk is for your bottom water line.
9. Apply false eyelashes, i used Sonia Kashuk ones that look pretty natural and used Duo eyelash adhesive in Dark. Than finish off with your favorite mascara for the top and bottom lashes {Urban Decay perversion and They’re Real by Benefit}.
10. Your eyebrows need to be unnaturally dark, so i used a black eyeliner in Lord & Berry and than i used e.l.f. Eyebrow lifter to sharpen the arch up. For blush i went with Kleancolor Ms. Chick in Gypsy and used e.l.f. blush brush to apply it.
11. For lips i wanted to go with a red so i used e.l.f. Long wear Lip Liner in Bitter and lined/filled my lips. Urban Decays Revolution lipstick in color 69 topped it off.
12. This is the last step and its the stitch work. You can get really creative with this step because not every voodoo doll is the same. I used L.A. Colors eyeliner duo pencil in black (the jumbo one) and stitched myself up. Once you finish you might notice you will need some highlight done or bronzer.
